Trees in front of All Saints Church

The Parish Council has been advised that two cankered Horse Chestnut trees in front of the All Saints Church (on the right-hand side,  as viewed from Junction Road) should be removed as they could potentially be dangerous. This is due to take place in the next few weeks.

The two Horse Chestnuts to the left of the church entrance may also need to be removed at a later point for the same reason.

Potential replacement trees are being considered with a couple of options:

  1. Remove the two diseased trees and replace with, for example, a Tulip tree or a London Plane
  2. Remove the four trees either side of the church at the front and replace on both sides to restore a balanced vista.

A further option is not to replace the trees at all, leaving the view open to the Church. New trees would not be planted until later in the year so there will be an opportunity to review how this looks over the next few months.
